Relax op de spierwitte stranden van Aruba
De voornaamste reden waarom toeristen naar Aruba komen is natuurlijk om te genieten van zonovergoten stranden. De stranden van Aruba zijn stuk voor stuk plaatjes, want het zand is spierwit en het water mooi blauw. Een waar paradijs! Rondom het gehele eiland zijn tientallen stranden te vinden, dus er is voor ieder wat wils.
· Eagle Beach is het bekendste strand op het eiland Aruba en wordt ook gezien als het mooiste strand van de Caraïben. Aan Eagle Beach liggen meerdere hotels en aan het einde van het strand staan de twee beroemde Fofoti bomen die veel te zien zijn in de promotiebeelden voor het eiland. De bomen hebben een gedraaide stam en groeien met de wind mee richting de zee.
· Tres Trapi is een kleine zand-inham tussen de rotsen. Het trappetje naar het strand is uit de originele rotsen gehakt en hierdoor kun je makkelijk de zee bereiken. Tres Trapi is een 10 meter lang strand wat zeer bekend staat om het snorkelen. Er liggen hier honderden Red Cushion zeesterren op de bodem en dit maakt Tres Trapi de meest fotogenieke snorkelplek van het eiland.
· Arashi Beach is een heel Chill strandje om te zwemmen. Er staan wat palmbomen op het strand, van die fijne zomerse parasols en er is een barretje waar je drankjes kunt doen. Vlakbij Arashi Beach vind je ook de witte California Light house. Ook kun je vanaf de weg bij het California Light house heel goed de duinen van Aruba zien liggen, ze zijn niet zo zanderig als in Nederland maar alsnog tof om te zien.
· Palm Beach Een van de meest vol gebouwde stranden op Aruba is Palm Beach, hier zul je dan ook heel wat hotels, toeristen en restaurantjes vinden. Vanwege alle gebouwen wordt dit strand ook wel de Highrise-area genoemd. Wat leuk is aan Palm Beach is dat je onwijs veel plekjes hebt waar je kunt chillen en vanaf hier kun je ook veel tours doen.
· Renaissance Island Op dit strand kun je helaas niet zomaar komen, je moet namelijk in het Renaissance Hotel overnachten of een kaartje kopen om met de boot naar dit privé eilandje te kunnen. Maar eenmaal op Renaissance Island bevind je je wel op een van de mooiste strandjes van Aruba! Toen wij er waren was het heel relaxt en rustig en omdat er twee baaitjes zijn, kun je op veel verschillende plekken zwemmen en chillen. Langs het zandstrand staan allerlei parasols en ligbedjes
· Manchebo Beach op het meest westelijke puntje van Aruba is het breedste strand van het eiland. Hier heb je dus alle ruimte. Het lijkt bijna een mini-woestijn. Maar aan de rand staan volop palmbomen, wat dit strand toch ook een knusse en heerlijk tropische uitstraling geeft. Je eigen picknick hoef je niet mee te nemen, want aan het strand grenzen enkele leuke terrassen. Een parasol en bedje zijn te huur. Relaxen maar
· Baby Beach Als je naar Baby Beach rijdt met de auto vanaf Oranjestad of Paradera, dan kom je als eerst langs San Nicolas. Dit stadje is gevuld met heel veel toffe Street art en als je fan bent van graffiti kun je je hier met gemak een uur of twee vermaken, Ook is er een kerkje waar je onderweg langsrijdt, vanwaar je een heel tof uitzicht over de kust hebt. Hoe verder je vervolgens naar het zuidelijkste puntje van het eiland rijdt, hoe dichter je bij Baby Beach komt. Dit baaitje is een van de chillste en mooiste baaien van Aruba. Het water is hier extreem helderblauw, het zand perfect zacht en er staan genoeg bomen en parasols waaronder je in de schaduw kunt zitten. Het water is hier bovendien niet al te wild, waardoor je er perfect kunt zwemmen. Een dikke aanrader dus, vooral als je wilt zonnen, chillen en badderen!

Hoewel de hoofdstad van Aruba niet bijzonder groot is, is het absoluut een bezoek waard. Zoals de meeste plekken op het eiland is Oranjestad een levendige en vooral kleurrijke stad. Er is een grote shopping Mall, maar leuker zijn de kleine winkels langs de boulevard. Wil je uitgaan op Aruba? Dan kun je hiervoor het best naar Oranjestad gaan. Vanaf Oranjestad kun je ook een boot trip doen.
Bezoek de Aloë Vera plantage
Gebruik je wel eens producten met Aloë Vera? Grote kans dat dit afkomstig is van Aruba. De plant komt oorspronkelijk niet op het eiland voor, maar is inmiddels helemaal ingeburgerd. De plant doet het erg goed in het Arubaanse klimaat en is bovendien goed tegen de zon. Een gouden combinatie. Wil je meer weten over hoe Aloë Vera in verzorgingsproducten wordt gebruikt? Maak een snorkel trip en verken de onderwaterwereld
Een absolute must tijdens een vakantie Aruba is om de onderwaterwereld te verkennen. Dit doe je maar op één manier: met een snorkel en duikbril. Het Caribische water is op veel plekken zo helder dat je er met gemak door heen kunt kijken.
Ontdek Street art in San Nicolas
Ooit was San Nicolas maar een verlaten stad in het uiterste oosten van Aruba. Dat kan anders dachten de Arubanen. En dus werden internationale kunstenaars gevraagd om hun creativiteit los te laten op de muren van de stad. Het resultaat is een kleurrijk geheel, tekeningen van dieren en andere vrolijke Street art. In een klap behoort San Nicolas nu tot een van de mooiste bezienswaardigheden van Aruba.
Maak een jeep tocht door het ruige noorden van Aruba
De ruige natuur in het midden en noorden van Aruba ontdekt je alleen met een jeep. Er zijn namelijk geen wegen en zonder toestemming kom je het National Park Arikok niet in. Het gebied is bovendien zo groot dat het bijna 20 procent van het eiland beslaat. Wil de je natural pools van Aruba zien? Dan zou je bijvoorbeeld een tour moeten boeken via De Palm Tours Aruba. Want je dan nog meer ziet zijn rotsen, stenen, rode aarde en er is geen gebrek aan cactussen. Vanaf het hoger gelegen deel heb je een enorm uitzicht over Aruba. Je kunt zelfs aan alle kanten de zee zien. Het is de thuisbasis van verschillende zeldzame dieren en planten. Verder vind je er grotten, originele Indiaanse rotstekeningen, lava en een ruige kustlijn. Wandelen bij de vuurtoren
Pak de bus naar Arashi Beach in het noorden van het eiland en wandel vandaar in een kwartier naar de California Light house. Deze vuurtoren is vernoemd naar het schip SS California dat in 1910 voor de kust verging. Daarna werd de vuurtoren gebouwd. Het natuurgebied in dit noordelijke stukje Aruba is heerlijk ongerept. Mooi voor een paar uur wandelen in en bij de zandduinen.
Naar Arikok natuurpark
Arikok blijkt voor een eiland grofweg ter grootte van Texel een natuurpark van formaat te zijn. Het beslaat bijna 20% van Aruba en meet ongeveer 32 km2. Het park bestaat sinds 2000 en is geen overbodige luxe. De natuur op Aruba staat onder druk, onder meer vanwege de enorme stroom toeristen. Dankzij dit nationale park wordt in elk geval een stuk natuur beschermd. Daarnaast draait het in dit park om educatie, bescherming van cultureel historische plekken en natuurlijk mensen laten genieten van de natuur. Dat kan onder meer dankzij wandelingen die zijn uitgezet, in totaal 75 km. Het park genst aan de kust en je vindt er ook een van de mooiste baaitjes, Boca Prins, ingeklemd tussen twee overhangende rotsen waartussen het water driftig op de kust beukt.
Rotsformatie Casibari ligt midden op het eiland en bestaat uit een aantal enorme keien. Dankzij de aangelegde wandelpaden en trappen bereik je zonder al te veel moeite de top van Casibari. Vanaf boven heb je een prachtig uitzicht over Aruba. Met de bekende Hooiberg op de achtergrond maak je prachtige vakantiekiekjes. Ook de rest van het eiland is goed te zien vanaf Casibari.

Azia Restaurant & Lounge Vlakbij Palm Beach en Eagle Beach kun je terecht voor de lekkerste sushi en andere Aziatische hapjes! Die vind je namelijk bij het hippe Azia Restaurant & Lounge! Ook de Dim Sum is hier erg lekker en er staan ook andere shareables op het menu zoals van dit knapperige edamame boontjes of vegetarische spring rolls. Yep, als je smaakpapillen even naar de andere kant van de wereld willen reizen, dan kan dat zeker hier!
Barefoot Wil je een keertje wat luxer uit eten? Dan is Barefoot een dikke aanrader! Terwijl de zon ondergaat, de fonkelende lampjes die over het terras hangen langzaam aangaan en de sterren in de lucht verschijnen, kun jij hier van de lekkerste gerechten genieten. Wij aten hier een overheerlijk vega lasagna, maar er staat genoeg ander lekkers op de kaart zoals snapper met ‘Old Amsterdam’ of malse Sirloin Steak. Bestel er een mooie fles wijn bij of een cocktail en je hebt gegarandeerd een fijne avond bij dit romantische restaurant! Oh en ook grappig aan Barefoot, een groot deel van de bediening bestaat uit Nederlanders. Veel Nederlandse stagiairs werken hier namelijk voor een paar maanden of half jaar.
Zeerovers is dé plek waar je naartoe moet voor verse vis. Je bestelt alles dat je wilt eten vooraan bij het restaurant, bij een soort loket. Vervolgens krijg je een nummertje mee en kun je achteraan, aan zee, bij een van de picknicktafels gaan zitten. Terwijl je van de super blauwe zee geniet, verschijnen vanzelf verschillende plastic schalen vol lekkers op tafel. Frietjes in overvloed, gamba’s die nog gepeld moeten worden, witte vis die net uit de frituur komt en nog gloeiend heet is. Bestel er een ijskoud biertje bij en geniet van deze heerlijke, simpele tent waar onwijs veel locals graag komen en steeds meer toeristen ook van een hapje genieten. Je kan hier terecht voor lunch, maar ook voor avondeten!
Bugaloe swingen op een steiger Trek in een drankje tegen zonsondergang? Dat is Bugaloe Beach Bar & Grill op Palm Beach the place to be. De bar ligt op een steiger en is helemaal in Jamaica-hippiestijl kleuren geverfd. Je kunt in deze laid back bar lunchen maar voor mij is dit de plek voor een sunset cocktail (happy hour van 17.00 tot 18.00 en van 22.00 tot 23.00 uur). Een mooi moment om je gedachten te laten wegdrijven op de golven van de oceaan.

Relax on the white beaches of Aruba
The main reason tourists come to Aruba is, of course, to enjoy sun-drenched beaches. The beaches of Aruba are all beautiful because the sand is bright white and the water beautiful blue. A true paradise! There are dozens of beaches all around the island, so there is something for everyone.
Eagle Beach is the most famous beach on the island of Aruba and is also considered the most beautiful beach in the Caribbean. There are several hotels on Eagle Beach and at the end of the beach are the two famous Fofoti trees that are often seen in the promotional images for the island. The trees have a twisted trunk and grow with the wind towards the sea.
Tres Trapi is a small sandy cove between the rocks. The stairs to the beach have been carved out of the original rocks, making it easy to reach the sea. Tres Trapi is a 10-meter long beach that is well known for snorkeling. There are hundreds of Red Cushion starfish on the bottom here, making Tres Trapi the most photogenic snorkeling spot on the island.
Arashi Beach is a very Chill beach for swimming. There are some palm trees on the beach, those nice summer umbrellas and there is a bar where you can have drinks. Near Arashi Beach, you will also find the white California Lighthouse. You can also see the dunes of Aruba very well from the road at the California Lighthouse, they are not as sandy as in the Netherlands but still great to see.
Palm Beach One of the most fully built beaches on Aruba in Palm Beach, where you will find a lot of hotels, tourists, and restaurants. Because of all the buildings, this beach is also called the Highrise area. What is nice about Palm Beach is that you have a lot of places where you can chill and from here you can also do many tours.
Renaissance Island, Unfortunately, you cannot just come to this beach, because you have to stay in the Renaissance Hotel or buy a ticket to be able to take the boat to this private island. But once on Renaissance Island, you will find yourself on one of the most beautiful beaches in Aruba! When we were there it was very relaxed and quiet and because there are two bays, you can swim and chill in many different places. Along the sandy beach are all kinds of umbrellas and sunbeds
Manchebo Beach at the westernmost tip of Aruba is the widest beach on the island. So here you have all the space. It almost looks like a mini dessert. But on the edge, there are plenty of palm trees, which gives this beach a cozy and wonderfully tropical look. You don't have to bring your picnic, because there are some nice terraces on the beach. A parasol and cot can be rented. Relax
Baby Beach If you drive to Baby Beach by car from Oranjestad or Paradera, you will pass San Nicolas first. This town is filled with a lot of cool Street art and if you are a fan of graffiti you can easily entertain yourself here for an hour or two. There is also a church that you drive along the way, from where you have a very nice view over the coast. The further you drive to the southernmost tip of the island, the closer you get to Baby Beach. This bay is one of the most chill and most beautiful bays in Aruba. The water here is extremely clear blue, the sand perfectly soft and there are plenty of trees and umbrellas under which you can sit in the shade. Moreover, the water here is not too wild, so you can swim perfectly. Highly recommended, especially if you want to sunbathe, chill and bathe!

Visit Oranjestad

Visit the Aloe Vera plantation
Do you ever use products with Aloe Vera? There is a good chance that this comes from Aruba. The plant is not originally found on the island but has now become fully established. Discover Street art in San Nicolas
San Nicolas was once just an abandoned city in the far east of Aruba. The Arubans thought that could be different. And so international artists were asked to unleash their creativity on the walls of the city. The result is a colorful whole, drawings of animals, and other cheerful Street art. In one fell swoop, San Nicolas is now one of the most beautiful sights in Aruba.
Take a jeep tour through the rugged north of Aruba
You can only discover the rugged nature in the middle and north of Aruba with a jeep. There are no roads and you cannot enter Arikok National Park without permission. Moreover, the area is so large that it covers almost 20 percent of the island. Want to see the natural pools of Aruba? Then you should, for example, book a tour through De Palm Tours Aruba. Walking at the lighthouse
Take the bus to Arashi Beach in the north of the island and walk from there to the California Lighthouse in 15 minutes. This lighthouse is named after the ship SS California that sank off the coast in 1910. Then the lighthouse was built. The nature reserve in this northern part of Aruba is wonderfully unspoiled. Nice for a few hours of walking in and near the dunes.
To Arikok nature park
Arikok turns out to be a large nature park for an island roughly the size of Texel. It covers almost 20% of Aruba and measures approximately 32 km2. Azia Restaurant & Lounge Close to Palm Beach and Eagle Beach you can enjoy the most delicious sushi and other Asian snacks! You will find them at the hip Azia Restaurant & Lounge! The Dim Sum is also very tasty here and there are also other shareable on the menu such as crispy edamame beans or vegetarian spring rolls. Yep, if your taste buds want to travel to the other side of the world for a while, you can certainly do it here!
Barefoot Would you like a more luxurious dinner? Then Barefoot is highly recommended! While the sun sets, the twinkling lights that hang over the terrace slowly come on and the stars appear in the sky, you can enjoy the most delicious dishes here. We ate a delicious vegetarian lasagna here, but there are plenty of other goodies on the menu such as snapper with 'Old Amsterdam' or tender Sirloin Steak. Order a nice bottle of wine or a cocktail and you are guaranteed a great evening at this romantic restaurant! Oh and also funny about Barefoot, a large part of the service consists of Dutch people. Many Dutch trainees work here for a few months or six months.
Pirates are the place to go for fresh fish. You order everything you want to eat at the front of the restaurant, at a kind of counter. Then you get a number and you can sit at the back, by the sea, at one of the picnic tables. While you enjoy the super blue sea, various plastic bowls full of goodies automatically appear on the table. Plenty of fries, prawns that still need to be peeled, white fish that has just come out of the fryer and is still piping hot. Order an ice-cold beer and enjoy this delicious, simple place where a lot of locals like to come and more and more tourists also enjoy a snack. You can go here for lunch, but also for dinner!
Swinging Bugaloe on a jetty Fancy a drink at sunset? That's Bugaloe Beach Bar & Grill on Palm Beach the place to be. The bar is located on a jetty and is completely painted in Jamaica hippie-style colors. You can have lunch in this laid-back bar, but for me, this is the place for a sunset cocktail ( happy hour from 5 pm to 6 pm and from 10 pm to 11 pm). A great moment to let your thoughts drift on the waves of the ocean.
