At Thanda, you get much more value for your money than around the Kruger where the prices are most of the time double, and at Thanda, all drinks were included in our stay, they even offer a free laundry service, so considering all this it was our best Safari experience in South Africa.

The private game reserve is home to the Big Five, as well as the cheetah, hyena, warthog, and the elusive wild dog. Thanda, meaning ‘love’ in Zulu, unites romance and exclusivity, with Zulu culture and wildlife.
Game drives at Thanda Safari start early in the morning, and while a wake-up knock on your door at 5 am might not necessarily be something to look forward to every day, at Thanda, it means you’re about to go on an adventure of a lifetime.

The reserve was opened in May 2004 by the late King Goodwill Zwelithini, former King of the Zulu nation. The design and décor of the lodges celebrate Zulu culture and the staff is from the surrounding local communities.
