The best thing to do is just stroll through the streets, there is so much to see and in the summer you will find dozens of nice terraces.
La Petite Venise is a tourist district in Colmar . In this mini-Venice, half-timbered houses from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries stand on the edge of a canal. The facades were all painted in different colors. Sometimes even the original signs of the fishermen, wine producers, and merchants who sold their wares there are still hanging on the houses.

Christmas market in Colmar
A large Christmas market is organized in Colmar every year. This market takes place in November and December and is located in the middle of the city center. The city was beautifully lit at that time and you seem to have stepped straight into a fairytale here. Everywhere you will find cozy market stalls selling all kinds of Christmas items and there is also a nice gastronomic market, where you can buy tasty Alsatian specialties. Fun events are organized and you can enjoy all kinds of activities for young and old.
Eguisheim just south of Colmar lies the village of Eguisheim and is also very nice to stroll through the streets. The village in Alsace is built in circles around a castle from the thirteenth century and thus has a very original shape. Unfortunately, only the chapel remains of the castle, but it is no less interesting for that. Eguisheim is completely surrounded by vineyards and it is there that the two best wines of Alsace are grown; the Eichberg and Pfersigberg

Colmar is een prachtige stad, gelegen in het hart van de Elzas. De stad wordt omringd door de wijngaarden van de Elzas en ligt op de Route des Vins d’Alsace. In de stad kun je heerlijke wijnen proeven en genieten van prachtige vakwerkhuizen, stadskanalen Vanuit Colmar kun je de bergen van de Vogezen verkennen. Kortom, er is genoeg te ontdekken in Colmar
In het oude centrum van Colmar wandel je in oude straatjes bekleed met kasseien en tussen prachtige houten middeleeuwse vakwerkhuizen en bijzondere paleizen in renaissancestijl. Het centrum van Colmar toont je hoe Alsace er in de middeleeuwen uitzag het leukste is om gewoon door de straatjes te slenteren er is zoveel te zien en in de zomer vind je er tientallen leuke terasjes.
La Petite Venise is een toeristische wijk in Colmar. In dit mini-Venetië prijken vakwerkhuizen uit de vijftiende en zestiende eeuw aan de rand van een kanaal. De gevels werden allemaal in verschillende kleuren geschilderd. Aan de huisjes hangen soms zelfs nog de oorspronkelijke uithangborden van de vissers, wijnproducenten en handelaars die er lang geleden hun waren verkochten.
Colmar is een prachtige stad, waar je kunt genieten van de echte Elzasser sfeer. Colmar wordt ook wel het hart van de Elzas genoemd en is een beroemde plek vanwege de wijnroute. De kleurrijke huizen zijn gebouwd in de typische Elzasser bouwstijl. Je kunt er heerlijk rondstruinen en genieten van de grachten, de kleurrijke bloemen en de oude vakwerkhuizen. Je kunt er een boottocht maken over de vele kanalen.
In de wijk Vieux Colmar kun je daarnaast ook de mooiste bezienswaardigheden vinden. Het middelpunt van het centrum is de kerk Collégiale Saint-Martin. Deze gotische kerk stamt uit de 14e eeuw en is in een mooie gotische stijl gebouwd. De kerk is prachtig versierd en mag je zeker niet missen. Ook het Maison Pfister mag je niet missen. Het is één van de meest unieke huizen in Colmar en het heeft een Duitse renaissancestijl. Het huis bestaat uit verschillende houten panelen en balustrades en je vindt er diverse schilderingen van mythische en Bijbelse figuren. Ook het huis Maison des Têtes is een echte aanrader.

We verbleven in een leuke Airbnb met een eigen keukentje, woonkamer en slaapkamer. Het mooie van de Airbn is dat je de deur uitliep en in het midden van het centrum van Colmar stond op 2 minuten lopen van Little Venice Colmar. Check de link naar de Airbnb
Kerstmarkt in Colmar
In Colmar wordt er elk jaar een grote kerstmarkt georganiseerd. Deze markt vindt plaats in november en december en bevindt zich midden in de binnenstad. De stad is in die tijd prachtig verlicht en je lijkt hier regelrecht een sprookje ingestapt te zijn. Overal vind je gezellige marktkraampjes waar allerlei kerstspullen worden verkocht en er is ook een leuke gastronomische markt, waar je lekkere Elzasser specialiteiten kunt kopen. Er worden leuke evenementen georganiseerd en er je kunt er allerlei activiteiten ondernemen voor jong en oud.
Eguisheim net ten zuiden van Colmar light het dorp Eguisheim en is ook heel leuk om door de straatjes te slenteren. Het dorp in de Elzas is in cirkels gebouwd rondom een kasteel uit de dertiende eeuw en heeft zo een zeer originele vorm. Van de burcht is helaas alleen de kapel nog over maar is daar niet minder interessant om. Eguisheim is geheel omringt door wijngaarden en daar worden de twee beste wijnen van de Elzas verbouwd; de Eichberg en Pfersigberg
